Sushi Kuu

Sushi Kuu  @ LKF

A while back L introduced me to this place. Quality sashimi is not easy to come by in Central, but Sushi Kuu does have very fresh sashimi even during lunch. Their lunch menu features some cooked Japanese staples such as tonkatsu with curry on rice, miso black cod and tempura but most are here for the raw fish choices if not for the Kaiseki set.

Sashimi set ($200)- served with a bowl of Japonica rice and udon. The sashimi on this place was scallop, maguro, hamachi, snapper and sweet shrimp.
All the items were incredibly fresh and the huge bowl of hot rice was very satisfying. The udon was the thick kind in a mild dashi stock and more importantly, had a bite to them.

L's chirashi set ($160) - with diced salmon, hamachi, snapper, sweet egg (tamago), salmon roe (ikura) and flying fish roe (tobiko).

Just remember to make reservations if you wish to visit during the weekday lunch rush hour.
