Sushi Kuu is one of my top lunch spots in Central. Plans for a quick lunch evolved into a two-hour affair after we were sold on the kaiseki menu.
Our meal began with the standard spinach appetiser and a selection of sashimi, both very ordinary.

The cooked course was salmon teriyaki, which was way over-cooked and tough to eat.
The fried item was an assortment of tempura, including white fish (overdone), pumpkin sweet potato and eggplant which were decent. Nice touch on the hot tempura dip though.
Chawanmushi - star of the meal - came next; intense truffle aroma and smooth soft custard topped with a dashi flavoured sauce... I just wish the sea urchin was kept raw as cooked sea urchin is not lovely...!
Sushi course was the last before dessert, which was fresh but nothing special. The usual white fishes, mackerel and scallop.
After this meal it took me a while before I dared return given the misses in this kaiseki meal - I expected more at $500! Anyway, if you haven't already, do try their eel and/or chirashi rice during lunch.. you won't be sorry.

Food: Overall ♥ 1/2 for the Kaiseki lunch; for regular lunch/ a la carte dinner.
Service:
Price: $500 pp for kaiseki; $170-390 for regular lunch sets
