Yardbird @ Sheungwan
Rather small in portion and a little underseasoned. But very tender meat...
Cauliflower florets fried in a thin batter and then coated in sweet Korean spicy gochujang sauce and sesame seeds. The lime cuts through the sweetness, but with or without, it's delicious every time!
I wouldn't bother. Filet is dry and although yuzu is a nice touch its under-seasoned.
One of my favorite dishes here - a must order. Crispy garlic chips on a risotto-like mushroom studded glutinous rice... vegetarian heaven.
Soft and flavourful chicken meatballs with a crisp exterior on a stick. Mix the sweet soy with the egg and coat the meatballs well, consume.
Seasoned with house tare sauce. Must get.
Another good part of the chicken...
One for textures.
Very fresh uni with panko and seaweed. Mix well and you will achieve the taste of umami.
I would definitely return again (and again) for the KFC, sea urchin, chicken meatballs, chicken thighs, chicken wings and both mushroom and chicken-and-egg rice dishes.
Yardbird has fans. A lot of fans. And despite the long queues (no reservations taken), one waits, and wait they should - the food here is fab. Below is a collection of photos over several visits, with a few comments here and there. |
