Brunching in Providence

My second stop in the States was Providence, Rhode Island where I met my bestfriend P and her buddies J, T and A. We got along right away - bonding over nothing less than our love of good food!

Nick's on Broadway was one of the stops we made for brunch. We waited nearly an hour to be seated if I recall correctly - this place is hugely popular on weekends!
open kitchen - we sat at the bar tables and got to see chefs at work!
tickets....and more tickets...
Omelette with home-fried potatoes and toast with choice of 2 fillings

Black beans with two poached eggs, grilled tortilla, salsa and avocado-cilantro creme
Char-grilled dry-aged Blackbird Farm beef burger with bacon, house-made wholegrain mustard, onion jam and Swiss cheese
Special of the day was cornmeal crusted catfish with orange aioli, on sauteed vegetables.
vanilla-battered baked brioche French toast with Vermont maple syrup

None of us could fault the dishes here - all ridiculously fresh and executed perfectly, from the simple black beans with tortilla to the fried catfish and the fluffy sweet brioche French toast....
Nick's on Broadway... why can't you be in Hong Kong?!
